How it all started...
River Rock Church started as a mission church in 1952 and was called First Baptist Church of Lemay. FBC Lemay saw tremendous growth and community engagement for several decades.
In 2012, FBC Lemay's attendance was still stable, but the congregation was aging and they were getting less successful with reaching and engaging their community. The leaders of the church reached out to The Rock Church of Saint Louis to see if they could help find a solution. After a series of discussions and much prayer, FBC Lemay voted to merge with TRC to form a new campus in South County in the summer of 2023.
Pastor Steve Wilson, his family and a faithful team from TRC chose to go and help relaunch and revitalize the church. The two churches merged with great success and began to grow and become relevant in the community.
In March of 2025, TRC (South County) voted that the church would become an independent, autonomous church. The core of the church remained the same, but adopted a new leadership model and changed their name to River Rock Church.

Expanding the vision...
River Rock Church exists to spread the message of Jesus, make him known in the community and lead people to grow and change with the power of the gospel. We are committed to growing in our knowledge and love for Jesus, deepening the love and fellowship that we have for each other and making disciples as part of our every day rhythm and lifestyle. We don't want to just be in the community, but want to serve it and make it a better place.
Where we are headed...
As we start our new adventure as River Rock Church, we are excited about what lies ahead. We have seen tremendous growth and miraculous life change. We believe that God can change a person, a community, a city and the world. We are continuing in our focus on the community and growth as disciples through mission opportunities, community groups and community engagement. We believe that there is a place for you in this family. We are a multigenerational group of flawed people who are being changed by Jesus. We would love to have you join the movement.
